After his meeting with Nader Pasha, the Sultan summons the Divan-ı Hümâyûn. His first move was to sack and arrest Grand Vizier Nevşehirli Damat Ibrahim Pasha for his poor handling of the war at sea and corrupt dealings at home.  The ex Grand Vizier is sent into exile to Ottoman Somalia.  The Sultan then appoints war veteran Topal Osman Pasha to the position of Grand Vizier.

Then the Sultan appoints Nadar Pasha to position of Beylerbey of the following Beylerbeyliks  Hungary, Bosnia, Croatia and Serbia. Nadar Pasha is also made Serasker(Minister for War) and given the task to reform the Imperial Army to make them a match to the European Powers.
