Courlander and Polish Colonial Developments
The Colonial Presence of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth is loosely organized into two companies. One is largely run by Courlanders and is an expansion of their surprising colonial empire. The other is based out of trade established in India. Both are joint stock companies with majority shares held by the King of Poland, and nominally operate under his oversight. In actuality, they generally operate with a mind of their own.

Re: Courlander and Polish Colonial Developments
In January 1716, the President of the Nowa Kurlandia Kompania Thomas Tew, sends a letter to his shareholders and especially the Polish King Augustus II, listing a number of grievances held by the Company against Polish and Courlander merchants in Africa and the South Atlantic.
Sailors have been impressed into the Portuguese navy, goods have been stolen, agreements violated, and the good men of the Company have regularly been slandered with the designation "pirate." It is with these unfortunately truths, that in order to defend the rights and integrity of the Company, the Nowa Kurlandia Kompania must enter into hostilities with the Portuguese Kingdom.
