Far East Trade and other events
1825
the Kingdom of Korea invites Britain, Russia, and the Netherlands to discuss trade with its ports and secondary trade via Korea into Manchuria as well as Russian trade through Korean ports (which are not subject to freezing during the winter). Meanwhile some Korean officials are sent to France and Germany to enter into talks with them as well
Word of this reaches Europe (as well as some of the Korean diplomats) late in 1826. It is noted during their travels that the Koreans make strong measures to learn the languages aboard the ships they are travelling on and are taking books and books of notes on everything they see.

Re: Far East Trade and other events
The Korean representatives are met in Hamburg and are initially seen as a curiosity, at best. However, after some diplomatic awkwardness, several merchants who had experience with the Dutch and British East India Companies are identified to lead talks with the Koreans. The Koreans are given a tour of the port facilities of Hamburg, and invited to visit a factory. They are also given a brief demonstration of the Fortress Area and some Army drills.
The Koreans are invited to sign a Treaty of mutual recognition and trade. The Germans declare their intention to send a trade delegation in 1827, and will establish a permanent representative there. The Trade Office extends its hopes to the Koreans to make Korea a hub for German trade in East Asia, and it is hoped the Koreans will establish an embassy in Magdeburg.

The Andeans Government envoys in Europe, hear about the Koreans activities and send word back to Santiago.
By late 1827, the Andeans will send their own envoys to Korea.
