Prestige Rules
National prestige determines how effective player nations can interact with NPC nations and organizations. It high ratings enable governments to intimidate or persuade NPC entities to do what they wish while low ratings mean that NPCs are less likely to be influenced.
At game start, all player countries will have a prestige rating, and some NPC nations will as well.
Success rolls will be determined by the situation, influence being attempted, and national prestige rating.
Prestige can be gained by success in war, negotiating treaties, and making major discoveries (finding Australia for example).
Prestige can be lowered by losing war, or fighting unnecessary wars, or embarrassing political / diplomatic blunders, and internal problems.
