Geography questions
I noticed last night that the French have already lightly settled Reunion, and the Dutch are on Mauritius (similarly lightly settled) basically an outpost each
(in OTL)
plus the Dutch control the Maldives (as a client state)(doesn't appear to have any particular value)

Outposts and Trading posts
Can we build them as part of the prebuild? I was thinking Chicago (portage link between Great Lakes and Mississippi River and thus a link to St Louis/Cahokia) and Sault Ste Marie (Huron/Superior link), plus trading posts OTL locations of Halifax and Sydney Nova Scotia
Due to the sensitivity of the Ohio River Valley, I am holding off on the OTL location of Pittsburgh (after all, that place started the 7 Years War)

I found that, but does it have any economic value?
Re: Geography questions
Not as far as I know in game terms. I'll do some research.

Apparently there's a lot of mining on the island at this point.

Re: Geography questions
Sardinia is listed as having 1 resource in the Regions of the World Thread, and as belonging to Spain.
Corsica is part of Genoa.
Corsica is part of Genoa.
Re: Geography questions
Do the Portuguese hold Casablanca in this timeline
OTL they did until it was abandoned after an earthquake
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casablanca
It is a mere 87 KM from Rabat, which is a principal Barbary Pirate port and in rebellion against the Sultan of Morocco

Re: Geography questions
The Portuguese do still hold Casablanca, but Rabat is back under the nominal control of the King of Morocco (the historical "Republic of Sale/Bouregeg" fell to the current dynasty in the 1660s) though heavily overrun with pirates who emphasize the "nominal" part of that control.
Re: Geography questions
So important point that was easy to overlook in the wall of text at the beginning of the game, but the Basque province of Gipuzkoa (centered around San Sebastian/Donostia) was transferred to France/the Dauphine in the treaty that resulted in the Spanish Succession. That means that France controls one of the two passes over the Pyrenees.

That is very interesting indeed

To that end, if either France or Spain built fortresses on that part of the border w/o operating under that knowledge, you have my permission to go back and shift them. So Spain built a fortress in San Sebastian, I know, so Hussam can do with that what he pleases.

Trieste is Austrian; Austria controls through Istria/Fiume, but past Fiume is Ottoman.
