Re: Kurfürstentum Brandenburg
Winter, 1701
In the wake of the brusque Saxon-Polish ultimatum against his territory and, indeed, his honor, Elector Frederick III declares that not one inch of Brandenburger soil will be made available to the forces of the anti-Swedish coalition. The Swedish ambassador becomes a regular figure in the halls of power, and the assembled diplomatic corps in Berlin soon recognizes that, in the event of a unwanted transgressions in Brandenburg, the Elector will openly throw in with the brash king Charles.

Re: Kurfürstentum Brandenburg
With the conclusion of the War with Brandenburg at the signing of the Treaty of Brussels. Elector Max Emanuel dispatches a special envoy conveying his condolences to his fellow Elector Frederick Wilhelm on the demise of Fredrick III.
Privately, the Elector expresses his outrage at such a demeaning and coercive manner to treat an Elector of the Empire by enforcing lateral subjugation to a lord outside of the Imperial Realm. Max Emanuel promises to seek the aid of the other Princes in the Empire and apply pressure on the Habsburg to undo this travesty.

Re: Kurfürstentum Brandenburg
Emissaries from the Crown of Augustus II of Poland-Lithuania and Saxony inform Brandenburg that exigent matters will make this year's payments to Brandenburg impossible. The declaration of war against Russia by the Ottoman Sultanate brings the existential threat of Turkish hordes repeating the tragedy of Vienna, and thus, Poland must utilize all available resources to prepare itself for potential conflict. The matter will be readdressed the following year, and the emissaries are careful to note that the Crown fully intends on fulfilling its obligations, and in no way intends on reneging on the Paris Accords. Furthermore, Saxon lawyers carefully note that no specific deadline was set on when the funds were due from Poland, and so technically, they are not in violation even of the spirit of the agreement.
Lastly, they are careful to note this in no way is a reaction to the behavior of the young Elector of Brandenburg, and they wish to express the greatest hope that the reign of Maximilian will be long and just.

Re: Kurfürstentum Brandenburg
France lets the young Elector of Prussia know that it is a shame he isnt a King. Clearly he should be one. Assistance in the coming war would greatly improve the ability of France to help him gain that goal.
Re: Kurfürstentum Brandenburg
The Warrior-Elector: Brandenburg through 1725
After steering Brandenburg on a state of active neutrality in both the Lateran and Anglo-Irish Wars, Brandenburg has become renowned for organizing the Protestant states of the Empire for action. Frederick William, the Elector who came to power after the Austrians murdered his father and the Poles stole half his Kingdom, has continued to harbor ambitions of revenge against Brandenburg’s many enemies: the Austrians and the Poles (or, at least, the Saxons) have suffered indignity at the hands of Brandenburg’s diplomatic machinations, but Brandenburg continues to harbor desires for further revenge.
The Warrior-Elector, as he has become known, has used the repeated hiring of his forces by combatant powers to begin to instill martial virtue and power in his men. He is even reported to have snuck himself on to a few of his country’s expeditions, if only for a while, to observe the way the art of war has developed in the first quarter of the 18th century. As the Austrians and Bavarians prepare for the inevitable election to scramble once more for the Imperial throne, and the Poles greedily eye their frontiers for expansion, Frederick William plots how he can continue to hamper his enemies designs and continue to exact his revenge.

Re: Kurfürstentum Brandenburg
In the spring of 1728, envoys are sent to Brandenburg, proposing arrangements be made for the future marriage of the Elector's son Frederick with the Stadtholder's daughter Anna Amalie.

This arrangement is acceptable to Elector, as a proper Dutch wife would instill the correct Protestant values in any of his future descendants.

The news is met with delight in the Netherlands, and early plans are made for a wedding in the coming year.
